Spanish police announced, Thursday, that it had dismantled an irregular migration network, operating in Morocco, Algeria and Spain, American news agency Associated Press reported.

According to the same source, the smuggling ring in question, is based in Bangladesh and it «fraudulently obtained visas to Algeria through that country’s consular services in India for at least 350 people from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India».

After reaching Algeria, these smuggled nationals used to stay in houses near the Moroccan borders, before being taken on boats to Spain through the Mediterranean route.

Quoting Spanish police, the same source reveals that officials from both Morocco and Algeria «conspired» with traffickers from this ring to smuggle Asians, who had to pay 20,000 euros for the trip, into Spain.

An investigation, conducted by the Spanish police, led to the arrest of 11 people in the Iberian country.
