Moroccan researchers Aicha Ammour and Mohamed Zbiri won two prizes at the ninth edition of the Sharjah Award for Plastic Art's Critical Research.
Aicha Ammour was awarded for her research «The relationship between visual arts and other artistic expressions : Interactive study of several Arab models», reported Sunday Le Matin. Mohamed Zbidi was also awarded for his work «Art and Society : Visual Arts and the Arab landscape».
Speaking to media, Aicha Ammour said she was proud of winning this award, the first of its kind in the Arab world that is launched to encourage research in the area of art criticism, adding that her research has addressed several Arab and Moroccan models reflecting fruitful interaction between the arts and society.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Zbiri, already awarded in 2012, noted that this award is particularly important, being the only one specialized in this field in the Arab world, concludes Le Matin.
