The People’s Party (PP), Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and Ciudadanos rejected on Monday, January the 28th, a request submitted by left-wing party Podemos.

The latter urged the Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Marlaska to appear before MPs at the parliament and answer questions on the extradition of Sahrawi student Hussein Ben Bashir Ben Brahim Amaadour, reports Europa Press.

Amaadour was handed over Thursday, January 17th, to the Moroccan authorities following his extradition from Spain where he applied for asylum. Spokespersons of Podemos Marcelo Exposito and Joan Baldovi criticized the decision of the Spanish government.

For the record, Amaadour is suspected of being involved in the murder of Amazigh student Omar Khaleq, aka Izem, murdered on January the 23rd, 2016 during a clash between Sahrawi and Amazigh students near the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences in Marrakech.

The Marrakesh Appeal Court had already confirmed last April the sentence handed down in the first instance to 18 people convicted of killing Izem.
