The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) dismantled on Thursday a pro-ISIS terror cell made up of eight people who were operating in the cities of Oued Zem and Tangier, the Interior ministry announced.

Investigations revealed that the members of this cell were looking for raw materials used for manufacturing explosive devices and belts with the aim of carrying out terrorist operations against sensitive sites in several Moroccan cities as part of ISIS terror agenda, the source pointed out in a statement.

Investigations also revealed that the suspects, aged between 21 and 31, intended to kill a person they know after his allegiance to ISIS has become questionable.

A search operation led to the seizure of a hunting rifle, ammunition, bladed weapons, paramilitary uniforms, electronic devices and manuscripts making the apology of ISIS.

The suspects will be brought to justice upon the completion of the investigations, led under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, the source added.
