In a shocking incident that unfolded in downtown Casablanca, Sunday, a Russian diplomat and his wife were physically assaulted while riding in a ride-hailing car booked through the Russian mobile app Yango. The attack began when taxi drivers blocked the path of the ride-hailing car and assaulted the driver. The Russian couple, who intervened to protest the attack, were subsequently targeted by the assailants.
Following this violent incident, the three victims were transferred to a private clinic for treatment.
Given the sensitivity of the case, the public prosecutor at the Casablanca Court of Appeal personally intervened, overseeing the progress of the investigation, according to Assabah.
