Rain and snow forecast for Moroccan mountains this Friday and Saturday

The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert for several Moroccan provinces, warning of significant rainfall and snowfall this weekend.

Showers of up to 50 mm are expected from 3:00 PM on Friday to 3:00 PM on Saturday in the mountainous regions of Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Azilal, and Taroudant. Snowfall is also predicted at higher altitudes.

Strong wind gusts of up to 90 km/h are forecast : From 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday in Chichaoua, Essaouira, Boulemane, Taourirt, and Figuig. From 11:00 AM on Friday to 11:00 PM on Saturday in mountainous areas above 1,500 meters in Midelt, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Ouarzazate.
