A Royal Air Maroc (RAM) plane made an emergency landing at Casablanca's Mohammed V airport on Sunday morning due to a cracked cockpit window. The aircraft, bound for New York, turned back shortly after takeoff to prioritize passenger and crew safety.

To reduce the aircraft's weight for a safe return, the pilot flew over the Atlantic Ocean to consume fuel. According to Le360, there were no injuries, and ground crews were immediately mobilized to inspect and repair the damaged windshield. Passengers were transferred to another aircraft, while the faulty one was returned to service later that day.

The incident follows a series of reported issues with Boeing aircraft, including a cracked windshield on a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9, a technical problem on a KLM Boeing 777, and an incident involving a Korean Air Boeing 737-8.
